Careers

Work on the hard problems, with people who take the science seriously.

Lyvup is a small team in Amsterdam building at the intersection of AI, biosensors, behavioural science, and clinical research. If that combination interests you — and you want to work somewhere where the research standard matters as much as the product standard — we would like to talk.

Culture & expectations

Small team. High standard. Real stakes.

Depth over breadth.
Everyone here owns substantive work end-to-end, with direct access to the research, the clinical context, and the commercial reality. More autonomy than a large organisation, and more responsibility.
Research-grade, product-speed.
Our work has to satisfy two standards simultaneously: the methodological rigour of clinical research, and the delivery cadence of a company building real products. Most of what we do is negotiating that tension honestly, not pretending it doesn't exist.
In Amsterdam, in the room.
We work from our office on the Herengracht. Some hybrid flexibility, but we are a co-located team by default — the work depends on tight coordination across engineering, clinical, and commercial context.
Open roles

Current opportunities.

We hire selectively. When a role is open, it is genuinely open — not a pipeline-building exercise.

There are no open positions at the moment. We do, however, keep an eye on exceptional speculative applications — particularly in clinical AI, embedded sensor engineering, and behavioural intervention design. If your work sits in that space, please use our contact form and select "Job applicant" — we read every application.
Students

Internships, thesis projects, and industrial PhDs.

We actively host master's-level interns and thesis students from our consortium partners — Amsterdam UMC, UvA, TU Delft, and TU Eindhoven — and are open to students from other universities where there is a research fit. Projects are real: scoped around questions that genuinely need answering, not training exercises.

Areas where we typically have projects available:

Industrial PhD constructions — in collaboration with a university — are something we are open to for the right candidate and topic.

How we hire

Short, structured, no theatre.

01
Application

A brief note and your CV or portfolio link.

We read every application. No cover letter template required — a short paragraph on what you do and why Lyvup interests you is more useful.

02
Conversation

30–45 minutes with someone on the team.

To understand your work and interests, and to answer your questions about ours. No preparation required.

03
Working session

A scoped exercise or technical discussion.

Structured around realistic work, compensated where the exercise is substantial.

04
Decision

A final conversation and a written offer.

With a response within a defined timeframe. We do not leave candidates waiting without an update.
